I love how Wind-Up's lyrics tip toe between "I can do it" and "I can't take it," like erratic bursts of motivation that lead to burnout. And the only way we can pick ourselves up is a friend or two or three and change of perspective (like a toy that ran outta time, having to be manually rewound by someone else).

This feels like a very personal song. I feel like I'm looking into Ceci's soul here.

"Shut up I'm trying" IS SUCH A MOOD

I love how this takes the lore joke of "haha CC doesnt do any chores" and looks at it sincerely. She HAS been doing them, for a really freaking long time. Procrastinators tend to be those who care the most, about reaching a standard, about projects and anyone they affect. They don't want to make things worse, so they remain stagnant like a doll, because they see themselves as the issue. But to define yourself to what's looming over your head, is bound to make someone unhappy.

I feel like "Spin to win" is given a new context with this song... it's not just a silly thing to shout, but it's about "spinning" your negative thoughts into more positive, progressive thoughts. Not just positivity for positivity sake, not just "you can do it!" but "spinning" your regressive, defeatist ideas into realizations that you're just just winding up, you're just trying, and you'll keep trying until you get there! Spin to win!!

歌詞からは完璧主義に対する自己否定や葛藤、そして再起が一番に伝わってくるけど、この曲の第二のレイヤーとしてあるのはただの内省ではなく共に歩む形であり、悩み、弱さ、失敗を受け止めたうえで誰かがそばにいる安心感に昇華する、温かく包容力のある音楽になっていると思う。ソフトで綺麗なサウンドと共に、心のぜんまいを巻き直してくれるような優しくて力強い応援歌でもあると感じる。

ここ数年の間で聞いた曲の中で一番のお気に入りです。
