"Wishing your physics a speedy recovery" is indeed a savage burn

The titles and thumbnails dont change, they actually are all in a superposition until someone observes them

I was a grad student at MIT in ~1975 and Paul Dirac came to MIT and gave a colloquium in a big auditorium. He was introduced by Victor Weisskopf who said something like, “here is not the equation but the man, Dirac.” Dirac talked about the ratio of the electrostatic force to the gravitational force between an electron and a proton and why there might be an explanation that the ratio is 10^40. He looked very frail, but had a wry smile and twinkle in his eyes. It was awesome to see and listen to a giant of 20th century physics.

Everybody always says "antimatter" but nobody ever says "antiwhatsthemematter"

Watching this I feel like Dirac realised that when answers don't fit into the existing understanding of things you don't dismiss them, you look for problems in the understanding. All too often things are declared wrong or impossible as they don't fit the established rather than hints that all might not be as it previously seemed, and we need to go back and question our assumptions.
