Description
Welcome collectors of all ages! This is Mike (not Jay!) with Jayhawker Vintage Cards.

My journey into collecting cards began in 1982. I felt a connection to vintage cards immediately even though I collected current cards as well. I began selling cards as a 17 year-old dealer at card shows (something I continued through my college years). Card collecting was a memorable period of my youth. I took a step back from collecting in the late 1990s but still picked up cards now and then. I jumped back into collecting during the pandemic. I would describe myself as an eclectic collector - but my passion has always been vintage sports cards.

Connecting with other vintage card collectors and talking vintage cards are the main reasons I created my channel. You'll see card grading reveals, stories about vintage baseball players, and showing my favorite cards.

Happy Thanksgiving Mike. Love the personal story. Thank you for sharing my friend.
A great story that you’ve mentioned but is always worth repeating. My dad never got me a card but he did find a Wheaties box with Griffey on it and thought I might like it. My mom gave me one card before she passed away. It’s one of the least valuable but most valuable cards in my collection. A 1990 Leaf Sammy Sosa rookie.

Fantastic cards, Mike. It’s hard to believe all of that was a quarter! Thanks for sharing this story about your dad. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Great Video Mike! Loved hearing the story! Such a great memory. Those are some excellent examples! I was going to comment on the Clemente, then the Santo, then I quickly learned there was way too much quality to just pick a few. Thanks for sharing!
