Marvin Wilfred, also known as Marvin Marvin[2], and formerly known as Mario Wilfred is one of the main characters in the series. He is a former adventurer, plumber and is the husband of Rose, the adoptive father of Jeffy and Tony the Tiger, and the older brother of Luigi and Mama Luigi.

Marvin currently lives in Pensacola, Florida, with his wife Rose, his adoptive son Jeffy, his friend/former rival Braxton and his family, the lattermost of whom he shares the ownership of his current house with. He is a moody and perpetually unlucky version of his Nintendo counterpart who would love to live out his retirement in peace but frequently finds himself at the helms of misfortune, from mischief at the hands of his adopted son Jeffy, relationship problems with Rose, and the struggles to pay off house payments for his and Braxton's landlord and archenemy, Mr. Goodman.
