Description

A cold Canadian winter night, at the corner of king and queen a crowd of musicians gathers, from budding amateurs to virtuosos. This was the place that brought these two artists together, from seemingly opposite ends of the musical spectrum. One trained in classical and traditional Celtic music, and the other trained in jazz and pop. It was the open jam at Imbibe, Ryan was on drums, and Claryssa was on the fiddle. But it was soon apparent to both of them that what they had went deeper than the usual jam session. That night was the beginning of A New Ground, made of classically inspired folk melodies and structures, combined with pop hooks and jazz rhythms. Now, A New Ground has brought their music all across the country with their 2018 debut album release, Forge The Sky, and is set to release their sophomore album Connected this year.
