Consider putting an ultra-thin sofa table behind the couch (es). The have some now with charging ports and outlets. It would also give you a place to set your tea. :)

I agree with the overwhelming majority of comments that two chairs or a recliner would be better in that space to keep it open; the loveseat here completely disrupts the flow. Also adding my voice to "put it in the Casita or man-cave" lol

A clear no(!) to the leather couch. Looks weird together with the new ones. I would get a single armchair that matches the couch better and doesn’t close off the space that much.

Remove the brown couch and get two club chairs. This will give you the same seating capacity but open the space.

I’d get a nice recliner where the leather couch is as a gift to Trent who wanted a recliner couch. Will open the space up more.

2 chairs instead of the leather couch would make the room look more spacious. Allie you are right. Designers say you need a bigger carpet. Your carpet should go to the end of your couch at the back and sides (minimum). The new couch does look nice in the room. I would make sure it's scotch guarded with little ones and muddy puppies.

I’m with Allie on the open side without the leather loveseat. I think the leather loveseat will honestly just get in your way there. They’ll be great pieces for the casita tho!
