KQGK (est. 1973) is one of the longest running channels in HaltingTuberland, LA on the air. The station also airs educational independent programming, due to it being owned by the HaltingTuberland State University alongside an independent educational station.
The station was founded by Lenny Houston, coach of the Eagle Academy for Mathematics and Science at the HaltingTuberland State University. The school (which, ironically, made the majority of KQGK's programming with other educational channels) eventually became private. The channel's programming currently consists of many PBS shows, PBS Kids shows, and independent programming. The station runs in sync with the PBS Kids Channel (PBS) on most PBS Kids stations (i.e. Chicago, Tampa, DC) due to it being owned by the same company and operated by the same students.
