Exploring One Mine At A Time

Description

Have you ever wondered what the depths of the Earth are like? Ever get curious about what a gold miner experiences underground? The claustrophobia, the darkness, the earthy, humid smells? How do miners, both past and present, find riches deep inside our planet? More importantly, how did they ever manage to get them out? From endless tunnels, to thousand-foot shafts, to enormous hand-carved caverns - come along with us as we explore these old mines and mining camps, long abandoned, and journey deep into the depths to find out!

Some mines are said to be haunted, home to paranormal activity, apparitions, and ghosts. Other mines stand as testament to man's enduring desire to extract mineral wealth. Head frames, adits, gold mines, cave-ins, timbering, ore carts, pneumatic drills and hydraulic hoists - the mines of yesterday have all that, and more!
