In these two new songs, she has been talking about flying close to the sun, both with different meanings, but using the same metaphor of escape, running away from a situation or living close to danger. I think the sun will be one of the main themes in the album, just like the sea in Norman, the road in Paradise, or the beach in Ultraviolence.

best birthday gift ever

I know she's only released two songs and the album is on the way, but this is by far my favorite. I'm currently grieving my father's death, and this song makes me feel comforted. Hearing this song makes me think about my father and how he so much wanted to change for the better. And I guess the best way for him to change was to fly away to the sky. Love you Lana 🏻
