Anyone treat the Unquiet Dead as the Ninth Doctors Christmas episode?

honestly theres so much potential in halloween episodes its a massive missed opportunity. I have to disagree with Harbo here cause theres many directions you can go and perhaps you up the scare factor specifically for this episode slot. Plus it can bridge the gap between when the series ends to christmas. I for one feel like there is very little left to do christmas with nowadays.

Hear me out: an easter special where the twist is that the alien that they're looking for is disguised as a bunny. They'll never see it coming.

I'm not the biggest fan of the 11th Doctor, but damn his Christmas Specials just FEEL right with him, can't explain it.

I always thought The Unquiet Dead was a never-made 9th Doctor Christmas special. It works so perfectly that I rewatch it during the holidays. And about the Halloween special, maybe Doctor Who won't be able to do something interesting, but a Torchwood Halloween special would be quite interesting.

Halloween is HUGE in Ireland, one of the places it started. It was the Americans who adopted it. Not vice-versa.

We actually do have stand alone Christmas specials over here across the pond. They are usually just more stand alone and not part of a regular TV series

10 should have showed up at Bowie Base One dressed as a Dalek and with a bucket for trick or treating in hand, may be a horror special but not a halloween special smh.

So you mean to tell me Boxing Day soccer has been discontinued just as American Christmas football revs up with Netflix? That’s so weird and…dichotomous

The Worst thing about the New Years Day Specials, was they were the Day after for the Southern Hemesphere which was a Normal Day. Sure the Christmas Specials were on my Boxing Day but that was still a Day Everyone was at Home.

People are usually out during Easter and Halloween. Christmas, most people are stuck at home and are more willing to watch something to pass the time. Sad the show rarely takes advantage to this boost in attention as the specials sadly tend to be underwritten.
