I collect drives of all sorts, from old to slightly modern, but for the most part I focus on old drives, as they are the ones quickest to become extinct within the next few decades, and if nobody is there to document the sounds of their self-test and what they sound like when functioning, and non-functioning, then drives like these are quite literally, lost to history. I am here to upload the sounds and sights of drives I happen to come across and purchase, and occasionally the failed units, which I sadly have quite a bit of. It is a rather delicate hobby, collecting mechanical devices that were designed to last around five years at most....
