Rabindranath Tagore (7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) also known as Gurudev, was a Bengali polymath who not only reshaped Bengali literature and music, but also Indian art. He became the first non- European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.His work comprises of paintings, novels, stories, dance-dramas, essays and near about two thousand songs. His compositions were chosen by two nations as national anthems: India's Jana Gana Mana and Bangladesh's Amar Shonar Bangla.
Tagore was a great humanist, patriot, poet, playwright, novelist, story-teller and a person whose approach was not restricted by territorial or religious boundaries.
