I used to be scared to be around guns until...
One night while I was in bed, I heard the front door open and close and then foot steps come down the hall...stopping right beside my bed. I was facing toward the wall and had to decide if I should play like I was asleep and hope they left me alone or turn over to fight...I quickly turned over. No one was there. Was I dreaming or what...who knows. BUT it made me realize that that helplessness was a greater fear than my fear of guns.
I started dating my buddy Mackdaddy1911a1 a couple of years after that and he made sure I not only had guns, but that I knew how to use them.

When I was 15 or 16 me and a guy I was dating were in a field and someone started shooting at us. As we ran for our lives, I could hear the bullets passing by my head. I was never anti-gun tough...just anti-stupid/ ignorant/evil/lawbreaking fools.
