Hi, I’m Matt 🌈I write songs and make films and these days I spend much of my time hanging out with elementary school kids and their teachers. I fill up their gymnasiums with as many lights and speakers and microphones and projectors I can fit into my vehicle and create a space they feel safe enough to share who they are through poetry, stories, music, dancing and making art. I feel lucky.

When I was that age, I knew that I was gay but had already gotten the message from the important people in my life that being gay was gross. That I was gross. I believed those lies and was terrified I would never be able to “fix” that part of me. That terror lead to deep despair, but I’m so glad I stuck around. Things feel a lot clearer now.

Now I make a TV series with my brother that celebrates Queer & BIPOC artists. It’s called Queer As *Fundamental (Queer AF*) and we bring it to schools that care about each other enough to listen. We’d love to come to yours. To learn more visit: 🌈www.queeraf.tv 🌈
