Wool Couture is a Yorkshire-based craft company founded in 2016 by Claire and Ali Gelder. We specialise in crochet, knitting, weaving, macramé, needle felting and embroidery kits designed to help people of all abilities learn new skills and create handmade projects with confidence.

Our bestselling “Learn To” kits include quality yarns, tools, patterns and step-by-step instructions, with many also featuring free online video tutorials. Alongside our kits, we offer a range of premium yarns, tools and accessories to support makers at every stage of their creative journey.

Inspired by Claire’s experience of how crafting improved her mental health and wellbeing, our mission is to make traditional crafts accessible, enjoyable and rewarding. In 2017, Claire secured investment from Tej Lalvani and Touker Suleyman on BBC Dragons’ Den, helping Wool Couture grow into a thriving community of makers across the UK and beyond.
