Welcome to Railroading in Dixieland. After a year long hiatus, I've decided to rebrand the channel to focus on more of the historical and educational aspects of the railroads that shaped the Southern United States - and what a better place to start than the state of Virginia itself? Home to many iconic railroads - Virginia was the crossroads of many fallen flags that shaped todays CSX and Norfolk Southern systems. Names such as the Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac, Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Air Line, Norfolk & Western, Virginian, Southern, and many more.

Behind these many railroads is a story dating back as far as the Civil War. Built from the flames of destruction, the railroad played a vital part during reconstruction, and today stands a vital economic link across the Southeast, or 'Dixieland'.
