Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.

We’re the Barnett family. We started raising our own food on a 2 acre suburban lot in 2008. We added a large garden and a flock of hens. Next, Bruce took up beekeeping and before we knew it we had hives in several yards around the county. Jill started raising pastured meat chickens. And then we added ducks. And turkeys. And…. then we ran out of space and into some local zoning regulations. Fast forward to 2019 when we moved our family out of the suburbs and onto an 18 acre property where we have more space and more freedom to raise our own food. Join our journey as we learn about goats, put up buildings, and take down trees. We’ll share about honeybees, pastured poultry, and more.
