Description
◙ Oddities and mysteries related to radio, telephone, television, computers, internet, and communications.
◙ The name "Strange Beacons" was inspired by the original 1979 movie "Alien," where the crew of the USCSS Nostromo detects an "acoustical beacon that repeats at intervals of 12 seconds" (i.e., a "strange beacon") from an unknown planet, LV-426. We all know what followed...
◙ Licensed amateur radio operator. Call sign: W9SPY. I seek to understand and document all radio transmissions, legal and otherwise, as part of the radio listening hobby. Very interested in cryptology, particularly as it applies to the so-called "number stations" thought to be transmitted by various spy agencies from all over the world.
◙ All comments are moderated. Comments that contain profanity, that attack another person, or which contain racism, partisan political commentary, conspiracy theories, obvious trolling, or anything that the moderator feels does not add to the conversation will not be approved.
