He was born into a family of musicians and began his musical studies early under the guidance of his father. He continued his education studying Double Bass with Alfredo Brandi and attending orchestral conducting courses with Bruno Campanella at the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence, and later with Franco Ferrara and Antal Dorati. He studied composition with various teachers and continued as a self-taught composer.
He was a member of the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and later a Theory professor at the Cherubini Conservatory. His compositional output includes theatrical, orchestral, and chamber works. He has worked as an arranger for film at “Pressing” in Bologna and has conducted various orchestras, including the symphonic orchestras of “Città di Ravenna,” the O.S.B.C.H. (formed specifically for a summer event), “Maderna” of Forlì, “Città di Ferrara,” and the “Teatro del Giglio” of Lucca.
