Do animals have emotions ?

In German households around 23 million pets are kept ( without fish, amphibians and reptiles) . However, these animals actually feel something ? The animal behavior research have claimed that animals have no feelings . This is not true , animals show emotions . The ethologists were previously only no methods to assess the feelings of animals because in science everything must be measured and reproduced. But meanwhile can judge the feelings or emotions by using neurophysiological methods.

Numerous studies have demonstrated not only differentiated emotions and empathize , but also reveal the social and communicative importance in animals. There are quite friendships between animals of the same species and even across species - limits. Dogs, cats, elephants , dolphins and monkeys go a friendship relationships with each other , as has been recently demonstrated in female bats.
