PMD Retold is the the Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky you all know and love but with a big difference. The protagonist actually talks!
Ever since I was a kid have loved this game and always thought of a version of the story where this was possible along with other bits and pieces of lore that were left unanswered in the original.
Although this is largely an adaption of the original story rather than a fiction, they'll be a number of changes besides the talking hero that will hopefully provide a fresh take on this classic story.
