The 1980s were the golden era of Japanese idols.
Countless idols rose to stardom during this time.
What awaited them were fierce battles among powerful rivals.
A few survived and continue to shine, while others vanished like shooting stars.
Still, nothing is more fascinating than the sound of the many “one-hit wonders” from that era.
This channel was created to shine a spotlight on those 1980s idols who have seemingly disappeared.
You might feel a bit disappointed that you won’t find videos of top stars like Seiko Matsuda or Akina Nakamori here — idols you probably love.
But those so‑called S‑rank or A‑rank idols are still widely appreciated even today.
I believe the real symbol of the 1980s idol era lies in the “B‑class idols,” the ones who weren’t recognized back then and still aren’t now.
