Orthodox Daily Readings

Description

Orthodox daily Scripture readings: the Epistle and Gospel for each day on the Russian Orthodox Old Calendar, read aloud in the King James Bible (KJV).

One new video every morning (US Mountain Time). Each one gives a short explanation of the day in the Church, one-line highlights from the lives of the saints remembered that day, and the day's appointed readings, read over historical Russian icons with quiet traditional chant. Narration is a computer voice. New to Orthodoxy? Terms are explained in plain English.

Calendar and readings from St. Jonah Orthodox Church (saintjonah.org) and Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville (holytrinityorthodox.com), credited as sources only. Icons and chant recordings are public domain.
