Description

Played history - for me, that means experiencing my favourite interests of gaming and history in a playful way and indulging myself in these ‘playgrounds of history’! Accordingly, my Let's Plays often have a twist and I like to digress into the historical context and historical themes in the games!

As a historian, I'm particularly interested in how history is ‘made’ in games; we can't bring the past 100% back to the present, we can only partially reconstruct it. It is even the case that our current expectations, our perspective on the past, have a great influence on the representation of history(ies). I find reading between the lines in games with this analytical eye particularly stimulating and recommend it to you too! Games are often more than simple fun, they are always stimulating entertainment and tell us something about ourselves!
