Welcome to Creating Citizens, a civics education initiative from The Commonwealth Club of California, that builds on more than a century of nonpartisan civil dialogue. Now with Creating Citizens, students and educators are brought into the conversation.
Civil dialogue is fundamental to a healthy democracy, yet our nation is more polarized and divisive than ever. We know young people are watching and listening, and they want to speak up. Creating Citizens gives them this chance through opportunities and programs featuring civic leaders from across the ideological spectrum, the thinkers and influencers young people respect, and most importantly β youth themselves. π
