Amoeboid protists video collection
Description
Hello! This channel is a collection of the video records of various amoeboid protists. "Amoeba" in general is a type of cell which is able to move and feed using conformations of the whole cell body and with the help of pseudopodia - temporary projections of the cytoplasm of various shapes driven by different types of the cytoskeleton. Amoeboid types of cells have evolved independently in many different branches of the eukaryotic tree of life. However, some of the branches are predominantly amoeboid. Here we collect reference light microscopic videos of different amoeboid protozoa that we find in different natural habitats during our studies of the taxonomy, phylogeny and biogeography of these groups. Videos are uploaded constantly, so check back regularly for updates. Looking forward to your feedback to: Alexander Kudryavtsev (alexander.kudryavtsev@spbu.ru). This collection is created as part of the project 15-29-02749 supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
