Hello and welcome to Nature is my Jam! My name is Darrin Wassom and I’m a field recordist that specializes in documenting the hidden corners of the natural world through sound, filmmaking and photography. If you’re like me, then you love the sounds of nature. From the dawn chorus of birds that rings in the start of another day to the howl of coyotes in the dark of night, these sounds ignite curiosity, excitement and a deep appreciation for our planet.

The goal of Nature is my Jam is to explore the world of field recording and the art of capturing pristine audio in remote places to create natural soundscapes. As a field recordist, I capture sounds outside of a controlled studio environment using various microphones, recording devices, and techniques. I also incorporate my photography and filmmaking skills to document a complete record of the environment I am recording.
