The Honnold Foundation supports community-led organizations expanding access to solar energy around the world.

From the Amazon to the Navajo Nation, Detroit to Papua New Guinea, we find and fund local leaders using solar to build stronger, more resilient communities on their own terms.

Rooted in rock climber and free soloist Alex Honnold's long-standing personal commitment, including donating roughly a third of his income each year, and supported by an incredible community of donors, this work has helped bring clean energy to more than 650,000 people across 30+ countries — alongside jobs, healthcare access, decreased utility bills, climate resilience, conservation wins, and more.
