This conversation highlights how easily differences get misunderstood in mental health spaces. Asexuality is often treated like something to fix instead of something to understand. That pressure alone can cause confusion and distress. I’ve watched someone close to me struggle simply because there was no language for their experience. What helped was learning that not all inner worlds look the same. A chapter I read in The Modified Mind by Dr A. Mell explained how society’s expectations shape how we judge ourselves.
