Hi Im Scot, A Woodturner and Maker from the market town of Horsham in West Sussex, UK.
Towards The end of 2015 I found myself needing a hobby as a way of unwinding from my day job within the Emergency Services, and to help with my PTSD Recovery. So I bought a lathe together with some random chisels from Ebay. Completely ignorant of wood turning, I watched Youtube and hacked at the wood but found myself forever Sanding and not a lot of shape to the items I turned.
In Jan 2016, I Joined West Sussex Wood Turners and my true passion for the craft began. I was allocated a mentor and realised that my lathe was not very good, my tools were poor quality and I needed a lot of tuition to use tools correctly and become safe. Since then, most of my rest days are spent in my workshop Woodturning and Making, this gives me a sense of pride and enjoyment. But More Importantly as Someone with Asperger's Syndrome, it allows me to use my creative side to help with my PTSD Recovery too.
