Description

My friends call me Rebex, and my art explores the spiritual and natural world. It creates visual dialogs of dynamism between realism and abstraction and explores the self and universe. My inspiration comes from my lifelong study of Zen Buddhism, mathematics and science. I am a Zen Master in a lineage which can be traced 80 generations back to the Buddha and hold a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from Stanford University. I have been blessed to teach physics and Zen in the U.S., and math and meditation in Bhutan, where I was deeply moved by the spiritual and artistic heritage of the Himalayas. Growing up in China and Canada, I currently reside in Northern California and my works have been collected by patrons in the U.S., Canada, China, and Japan. I strive for my art to enable viewers to tap into the natural beauty and the universal serenity and connectedness in every one of us.
