Hegshot is a brand new artist that tells compelling stories about life struggles, addiction, setbacks and perseverance. The combination of life in the city, molded by a Southern, country upbringing brings his music to life. Everyday hardships and success are what molds him. Born in South Carolina in 1987, Heg grew up in Hanahan, SC before moving to Summerville at the age of 8.

Every weekend, it was hunting, fishing or camping with his Dad. His Mom stayed at home and made sure that Heg and his sister were always taken care of while his Dad worked. Lower to lower middle class was the way of life and he saw the struggles of his parents early in life. Early Music influences include, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Travis Tritt, George Straight and more. Outlaw and 90's country and then in 2001, a CD was burned for him that was named "The Marshall Mathers LP" and that was his first introduction to Rap. It consumed him. He had to hide it from his Mom, but it opened his world up to Kid Rock, 50 Cent, Young Buck, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and more. As soon as that first car was his, rap had taken over the speakers in that little S-10 and his Mom had to accept it by then. She now is one of his biggest supporters along with his Dad and close friends.

Today he still listens to all of these artists and also enjoys  Aaron Lewis, Jamey Johnson, Upchurch, Tom Macdonald and more.  Outlaw country inside, rap on the outside makes for an interesting dynamic from Hegshot.
