The speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play, and catalogues the seven stages of a man's life. Life is the canvas, our relationships are the canvas, conversations are the canvas, dreams are the canvas. Every moment we are creating our experience. Our thoughts, our words, our actions are all instances of our ability to bring forth something in the space where nothing existed before.
Most of us fail to capture the beauty of life either because we are blind to all that is good and beautiful or because we are looking for it in the wrong places. We seek it in the works of our own hands. But it is there before us quite independent of our own initiative.
