Die Shiny
Description
In the heart of white-picket-fence Utah, USA -the state known for mormonism, a giant drought-ridden lake, and the proposed site of the largest AI data center in the world - the voice of art pop band Die Shiny is rising from Salt Lake City’s underground.
Formed in 2019 by Callie Crofts (lead vocalist, bassist) and Zac Bryant (drummer, audio engineer), the project released music as a duo before becoming a live act in 2022. Now joined by Matt Wiley (guitar), Caleb Wall (keys, vocals), and Carolyn Schmitz (Vocals), the band of queer and allied besties has a knack for blending existential dread with joyful authenticity - from irresistibly catchy dance floor bangers to emotional psalms soaring over cosmic synthscapes.
A default setting of solidarity and community embrace shines through the group’s electrifying live act, establishing them as local icons and drawing praise from SLUG magazine who hailed them as “one of the coolest bands to ever come out of Salt Lake City”
