Welcome to The Flipside Story, your one-stop channel for all Japanese mobile phones over the last 20 years or so. This channels focuses a lot on Japanese brands, networks and flip phones, but you'll find the occasional nugget of European tech in here where it fits.
The Flipside Story is also on Instagram (@the_flipside_story) and Facebook (@theflipsidestoryasia) to help educate anyone who's interested on the origins of our modern day smartphones. And the Japanese contributed a lot to how we use our phones today.
We'll dive into interesting devices and services that have existed in Japan since the early 2000's and how we now enjoy them globally.
