Girlfriend Records was created by producer Sferro as an attempt to pay homage to the faded images and analog sounds of his childhood. Deeply rooted in the mystique of the 1980's, GFR's catalog sees electro, funk, disco, and house knocking knees with college rock, shoegaze, post-punk, new wave, and hip-hop to create musical hybrids that are comfortingly nostalgic, yet unmistakably modern.
