Description
Songleikr is a project rooted in a deep love for Nordic folk music. Weaving together traditional stories with new musical creations, the group celebrates live music, people and connection.
Founded around Scandinavian bonfires by Norwegian singers Ingrid Galadriel Aune Falch and Maria Franz, Songleikr takes its name from Old Norse: songr (song) and leikr (play)—music as joyful, communal play.
With the debut album Godtfolk (2016) and the upcoming release Fuglefolk (2026), Songleikr moves forward as a collective. Alongside Ingrid and Maria, the project now features Kasia Sikora-Black, Petter-Olai Østbye Sagen, and Espen Wensaas, shaping the evolving sound of Songleikr on record and on stage.
