Welcome to Challenge, the magazine of the Young Communist League of Britain (YCL).
Challenge has been the journal of the YCL since 1935. It survived the Second World War, the Cold War and the nineties. It’s now dragging itself into the 21st Century with a new website.
Challenge is the voice of Britain’s young communists providing the news and views of the YCL. We report on the latest domestic and international news from a class and anti-imperialist perspective.
We also work to represent the perspectives and culture of the full spectrum of young workers and students in Britain. We feature in-depth contributions on working-class culture and history, reviews and reports on the different campaigns and struggles taking place in Britain and the rest of the world.
