Please speak to the old lady before hiring a felyne!
WHAT THEY CAN DO!
Farm: They can do so much from just growing your crops for you to running your entire farm. Farming includes mining, crops, bugs, mushrooms, honey, and fishing.
Shop keeping: Can run your store and have blacksmith knowledge
Cooking: Felynes are famous for their cooking skills. In fact their cooking can make a person stronger with instant result. They cook any combination of food for you, too your picking, at a maximum price of only 100 zennies! But don't blame them if you choose the wrong combination!
Hunting: They can assist Hunters in quests. This includes attacking monsters, being a healer, setting up traps, gathering items, carving valuables from monsters, and protect you from monster attacks. Though keep in mind, a 3-foot felyne can only do so much against a 10 ton wyvern! Felyne Comrades normally are weak when first hired. To make them more effective during hunts, give them a training regime that they can follow and take them out on lots of quests so they can learn from experience. Keep in mind also that each Felyne Comrade has different ways of doing things. Some are great at gathering items but would never go near a monster, while others are eager to get their paws on the biggest wyvern they can find, not bothering with anything else.
Felynes are one of two cat-like, humanoid subspecies of the Lynian race, the other being the Melynx. Felynes are recognized by their white fur and have the ability to talk in human language, and can be found both in human villages (Pokke Village) and in the wild.
Felynes perform a small variety of jobs in villages, from shopkeeping to farm maintenance, but most notably they may work under a hunter as Felyne Chefs or Felyne Comrades. Felyne Chefs cook food for their hunters to support them in their adventures by temporarily bestowing them with beneficial status effects, while Felyne Comrades assist their hunters on quests by using various skills and attacks.
