Hi! I'm Taka Owen, and this is Echopraxion. I create music using 'found sounds' - samples I've recorded in the real world that I turn into digital instruments. Homebrew synths, if you will. Chainsaws become choral synth choirs, radio feedback squeals become sine wave synths, squeaky gates become synth pads and reversing trucks become leads. Basically: I take horrible sounds, and I turn them into pretty music.

This all started when I was stuck in isolation thanks to COVID-19, and decided to use the time to write synth music again, and my first tentative experiments into using found sounds happened during this time. Since those first forays into electronica, I've been through three different music programmes and changed laptops, so my older music is a little inconsistent in terms of sound, and uses standard digital synthesisers. In 2022, I got tired of losing synths that I liked and began writing music using entirely my own sampled sounds. I've never looked back. Hope you enjoy!
