The mission of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is to drive openness, cultivate public participation, and strengthen our nation’s democracy through public access to high-value government records. We accomplish this through analysis of the American Presidency through the lens of the holdings of the Carter Library and the National Archives.

The Carter Library is one of 14 Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration, a federal agency.
