Gopal Prasad Rimal was a renowned Nepali poet, known as Nepal's first revolutionary poet. He was born on May 21, 1917, in Kathmandu, Nepal, and passed away on October 24, 1973. His poem "Aamako Sapna" (Mother's Dream) is very famous, and he was awarded the Madan Award in 1962.
