He began writing and producing music at age 14 which led to presenting his unique sound online where he started to gain his own following. He has managed to use a similar formula as Soulja Boy by using social networks and taking advantage of the power of the internet to build his fan base. Having the same birth date of the legendary Tupac Shakur and sharing the last name of music mogul Russell Simmons (although no relation), creates a certain appeal and mystique about his persona. His influences include such artists as Lil Wayne, T.I and OutKast. which have inspired his very own sound.
