This message "Free Your Heart" rings through the melodic, energetic, and emotional verses of NËSTRÄ’s youthfully wise voice. At 27, NËSTRÄ has already become an accomplished singer, composer, artist, and model; performing at Seattle’s Bumbershoot and Capitol Hill Block Party music festivals as well as walking in New York’s Fashion Week for Adidas and the Seattle Sounders. Musically, NËSTRÄ has become a force, drawing influence from traditional soul and funk sounds, to cloudy-atmospheric indie and modern hip-hop, all under a pensive and honest R&B lens, but most importantly NËSTRÄ has become a voice: a voice as loud as pounding 808 drums and psychedelic synths. A voice that is inspiring, almost challenging his city to be themselves and free their heart. In his lyrics and music NËSTRÄ tell us his story, reflecting his life as a first-generation immigrant and his East African roots, as well as his journey through life in a foreign country, experiencing new cultures.
