CINEMAPHONIC Live Sessions is an online music brand founded in 2017 by American engineer Andy Baker and Taiwanese director Alulu. It is filmed at Taipei's YuChen Cinema Recording Studio.
The studio is the former YuChen Cinema (est. 1954). In 2016, Andy Baker preserved its unique architecture, high ceilings, and natural acoustics, creating a professional audio space. It became Taiwan's first studio dedicated to live recording, a crucial platform for independent Taiwanese artists to reach the global stage.
Driven by his passion for live music, We launched the CINEMAPHONIC project in 2017. A professional team films live-recorded performances, producing high-quality music videos for their YouTube channel. They have filmed over 50 Taiwanese bands, with more than 120 videos released. Participants include Sunset Rollercoaster, Elephant Gym, and The Chairs.
This is a journey from an old cinema to the international stage, connecting people through music. Great music from Taiwan, now showing.
